Preparation of Mosquito Repellent Sticks training given to students
GNIIC Start up Cell of the GNCIIES in association with Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Manoranjitham Organized a one-day Workshop on “Building Women Entrepreneurial and Employability Skills” on 30th March 2022. The Resource Persons for the Workshop were Mrs. P. Srithika, President, Secretary Ms. Bhavya, Ms. Akilandeshwari and Ms. Malathi of Inner Wheel Club of Chennai Manoranjitham, The workshop focused on the Jute Bag Making, Screen Printing, Paper Bag Making, Phenyl Making, Soap Oil Making, Saree Printing and Mosquito Repellent Stick. The pedagogy aims on the skills necessary for entrepreneurship and increase employability among women. The workshop was a blend of lectures and practical sessions such as live and interactive product making demonstrations. After attending the workshop, the participants were able to understand the challenges, prospects, issues, concerns, opportunities, legal and procedural issues of entrepreneurship development and related issues. The Resource Person also highlighted on the importance of Entrepreneurial Skill Development and Schemes of Incentives and Supports from Government and NGO, Self Help Group (SHG) Schemes, Promotional agencies for entrepreneurship, Venture Capital and Sources of Finance including Commercial Banks, Development banks, Insurance companies, NBFCs. The workshop highly benefitted the Women students and the staff members in understanding the nuances and essential key components of entrepreneurship not only to make them self-employed but also to generate employment for the youth.
