The Programme of Biotechnology, under the aegis of the School of Sciences of Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai, in association with the International Higher Institute of Perfume, Cosmetics, Aromatics and Food (Institut superieur international du parfum, de la cosmetique et de l’aromatique alimentaire – ISIPCA, Versailles, France) organized a one-day Indo-French Conference on “Fragrances and Flavours: Advances, Applications & Industrial Ventures” (ICFF-2023) on 5 October, 2023. ISIPCA is a school of the CCI Paris Ile-de-France Region, established in 1970, on the initiative of Jean-Jacques Guerlain, to bring together four training areas, the three main sectors being Perfumes, Cosmetics and Food Flavours. The conference is aimed to foster understanding of knowledge, transfer, collaborative research across traditional disciplinary boundaries and knowledge networks at the local, regional and international level highlighting GNC’s distinct institutional profile.
Ms. Sophie Lathuilliere, Dr. Lydie Gumery and Ms. Marie-France Zumofen, the delegates from ISPICA toured the GNC campus, and interacted with the staff and students of the institution. The Indo-French Conference hosted its technical session on the second day of the visit. The sessions were led by Professor Mukesh Doble, Emeritus Professor, Department of Biotechnology, IITM, Chennai, Dr. Lydie Gumery, Academic Director, ISIPCA, Ms. Marie- France Zumofen, Executive Director ISIPCA and Dr. A.R. Suresh Babu, UGC-FRP, Department of Chemistry, Anna University, Chennai. Guru Nanak Educational Society furthered its collaboration with ISIPCA through the signing of an MoU.
