On 24th March 2024, Rotary club of Chennai Velachery members with family raised the awareness at Besant nagar beach on “Meendum Manjappai” to encourage people to adopt cloth bags instead of plastic bags. TN Government has setup the cloth bag vending machines at various locations across Chennai and rotary members requested public to make use of the same and start using cloth bags.
