The PG and Research Department of Advanced Zoology and Biotechnology, Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai – 42, in association with the Indian Science Congress, Chennai Chapter, conducted an invited lecture on “Science and Technology for Women Empowerment” on October 05, 2021. Dr.Vijayalakshmi Saxena, General President of the Indian Science Congress Association was the Chief Guest. She emphasised the importance of women’s education and the need or women to be independent both in financial and decision – making aspects. She also discussed the role of science and technology in shaping women’s Careers and the opportunities available to women in science and technology. Dr. Ashok Kumar Saxena, former General President of ISCA, was the Guest of Honour, and he spoke about the Women and Children Congress, as well as the role of students in the Indian Science Congress.
