Women Development Cell of Guru Nanak College (Autonomous), Chennai Celebrated the International Women’s Day on the 8th of March 2023 with the theme “Embrace Equity”. Chief guests and Guests of Honour for the inauguration and Valedictory were Dr. Kanimozhi N.V.N. Somu, Member of Rajya Sabha, Govt. of India, Obstetrician&Head, State Medical Wing, Ms. Andrea Jeremiah, Indian Actress, CA. Divya Abhishek, Practicing Chartered Accountant, Ms. Lavanya Venugopal, Theatre Artist respectively.
Dr. Kanimozhi N.V.N. Somu,in her address, said, “Women are strong and everyone should empower themselves and be financially independent”.
CA. Divya Abhishek, in her address said , “Women should use all the opportunities that come to them, which will make them different in their life”. Ms. Andrea Jeremiah, in her valedictory address said “Education is the most powerful for every woman to bring change in their well being”. A grand cultural performance by the women staff and students enthralled the audience. More than 1000 staff and women students participated in the grand mega event.
